Do people really assume curly haired women are either laid-back hippies and/or extremely neurotic? ?

Where did that sterotype come from? I'm a preppy, high fashion chick, BUT whenever i don't straighten my hair and wear it all curly and big, people act like I'm supposed to be this chill, Earth mother even though I've got a blue tooth in one ear, a latte in my left hand, my briefcase in the right and a copy of the Wall Street journal stuck under my arm.

I think people categorize curly hair women that way because I think they view curly hair as "being natural", which they tend to pair the idea of "natural" with mother nature, and "earthy". Women who are usually into fashion, and careers are usually those who take a million years to get ready in the morning (ie straightening the hair, ect) and looking well polished. And plus, I think the women on tv that have artsy jobs have the crazy curly hair.

But who cares what they think. Doesn't anyone know who Carrie Bradshaw is?? Curly haired and absolutely FABULOUS (even though she is fiction, and well... a writer <--- another stereotypical creative curly haired woman lol)
