What is the best and cheapest way to travel from Nagoya to Utsunomiya (tochigi ken)?

I don't want to spend too much on the SHINKANSEN, so I thought I could probably travel overnight, to make it cheaper. Do I have to change buses in Tokyo?Or can I simply take a direct bus from here? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
