Situated around the screen's frame are a touch-sensitive scroll sensor, two microphones, a 1.3-megapixel Webcam, a fingerprint reader, the power latch, and a HP nx7400 Battery five-button control panel that doubles as a combination lock. At a glance the layout feels haphazard, but it starts to make sense once you swivel the screen down into tablet mode.
Video performance is better than many notebooks in this class, probably due to the ATI Mobility HD 4330 GPU. DVD visual quality was excellent, though the screen itself offered limited viewing angles. We used the external USB DVD drive to watch parts of Serenity, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and Raiders of the Lost Ark. DVD upscaling looked accurate, and we detected no artifacting. Audio was good enough, but you'll be better off with a good set of headphones. Photographs also looked quite sharp. MSI does supply a slimline, external USB DVD burner that's USB powered--but adding it will push the weight past 5 pounds, and the drive requires two USB ports--one for data, one for power.
Multi-touch capabilitiesIf you have a compatible touch-screen PC or laptop, multi-touch physical gestures can now be used to navigate the operating system and pull up documents and data with a flick of a finger.
It's also going to be less dirty. In a conventional car, producing one kilowatt-hour of electricity creates about five pounds of carbon dioxide. anybody have any experience with this modem with optus in sydney?
thinking of getting this for my new laptop instead of an unwired modem, so its more portable.
i used to have an optus mobile which had great coverage, does optus wireless broadband have the same great coverage?
ive looked at telstra wireless modems and plans, along with the unwired modem....and would prefer the optus modem and plan.
any advice or experience about optus wireless in sydney?
Optus does NOT use Telstra's mobile infrastructure, they have their own.
Their wireless internet service works with their 3G network, and (I believe) will fall-back (run slower) in non-3G areas. If you're getting good 3G coverage with an Optus mobile phone, you should get a good signal with the Roamer modem.
