Cleaning softside luggage?

I brought a 20 plus yr old black softside polyester 29" wide Samsonite suitcase down from the attic. It is covered a fairly thick layer of dust.
Best way to clean ?
How about spraying it with a garden hose ?

use the vacuum to dust it off and keep it open to air out place a sheet of fabric softener inside or a small sachet of lavender , when you store it away cover it with an old sheet yo prevent the dust from setting in , I wouldn't wet it because it will smell mouldy afterwords
