please help! need some good information about traveling with a rat?

I am making a pouch for my rat to travel in, but she is such a small baby, that I want to make sure she has enough air holes. I was thinking a mesh fabric square somewhere on it, but am worried she may chew through. Any suggestions?

i bought a very cheap travelling cage from a pet shop if the puch doesn't work check your local
make sure your pet has holes not to big for them to climb out i'm not sure about fabric as yes it may be chewable so be careful
