Are the square tips really that much better than round tips??

it all depends on what you like, but i prefer square round. it's just a little nicer on the edges in my opinion.

but as for type of nails you get, go with fiberglass! it's just a little more expensive than acrylics, but the acrylic nails break and rip off so much easier; and if you're getting french or american manicures, fiberglass looks a lot nicer.
