Help with my Shabby Chic bedroom!?

OK were moving and i want to change our mix and match bedroom into shabby chic! I have a few white shabby chic pieces of furniture already but i am having a couple problems! I bought some white sheers for the windows and now need some idea of what kind of curtains to layer them with, second, my husband thinks the room is gonna be too girly, so any idea on how to make it husband friendly! I was thinking of finding some old brown leather luggage pieces and making a small side table for him, but i need more suggestions! Also what other sorts of wood can be incorporated with the white furniture if any??

When I think of Shabby Chic I think of older furniture that has been painted white like you have. A round table with a table cloth that goes to the floor with a cotton chintz fabric or maybe even a check/plaid to keep it more masculine. Also, family photos on the table with antique type frames. Think of a collected look for older furniture. You can mix old with new and think of English Country style. Also, the catalog Ballard Designs is a great source of ideas. Also, for the curtains you can get a fabric that coordinates with the round table. I still like the idea of chintz fabric for those too.
