ohkay , we just bought my little sister a notebook .
its a Eee PC - by ASUS .
it does not have a cd rom place to insert a disk to install my anti 0 virus software.
the guy at the store said we do this by some dvd thingy.
i have no clue what he is talking about.
can someone please help me?!.

The Asus Eee PC is actually a netbook, not a notebook. There is a difference and the main one is that a netbook does not have a place for CD Rom. You need to buy an external DVD Rom to connect to the netbook. You connect the DVD Rom using USB 2.0, I'm just going to assume you know how to do that.

Connect that to the netbook using USB. Then put the CD in and it should start to install. It's that simple.
