Wallet makes shoplifting alarm go off, how to stop?
I bought this Columbia wallet from Kohl's and when I first started to carry it around, store entrances never made any noise (shoplifting prevention). Now when I enter or exit any store with the shoplifting sensors, the alarm always goes off no matter in what store. This has happened in Walgreens, Kohl's, Jewel, and every other place with these scanners. I have no idea what it causing the alarm to go off. There aren't any tags or anything like that. It's just a brown leather wallet with a metal clip holding the cash. Could that be the problem?
Check deep inside the wallet and see if there is a sensor maybe wrapped in fabric or something. I had a leather coat that did that once. It had a tag wrapped in fabric in the pocket and everywhere I went, the alarm went off, JCPenney, Speedway...you name it and it went off. Finally I had the people at Walmart run it across their thing to de-activate it and that solved the problem, but it was pretty embarassing.
