Family Organizer Keeps Plans in Order

If your family is so busy that it is difficult to keep track of who needs to be where and when, you may want to purchase a family organizer.  A family organizer is basically the same thing as a day planner, but more in depth.  Rather than just having a regular calendar inside, family organizers have different categories having to do with household and family responsibilities to remember. Need help with Bb Clarinet Reeds?

hi, i play the Bb Clarinet, i've been playing four about 2 years now. I recently purchased a very high quality Vandoren mouthpiece and a very high quality leather ligature to go with it(forgot what brand and dont want to check now). I've noticed a huge increase in my tone quality. I use 3 1/2 size Rico Royal clarinet reeds and im going to move up to 4 after this box. But, my Band leader, in the clarinet sectional said that if i was going to use such a good mouthpiece i shouldn't use Rico Royal. He says that i should use something better like Vandoren. My mom buys my clarinet reeds for me and she thinks i should be fine with Rico Royal because its the cheapest. Should i ask my mom to start spending the extra money on Vandoren? also on Rico Royal im using size 4, if i do switch to Vandoren what size should i use? Also, if there is a better(not too expensive) clarinet reed brand besides Vandoren can you please tell me? thanks in advance

You may want to try the better reeds. Don't buy a large quantity, just a few so you can get the feel for them, and if it does make a difference then it would be a worthwhile investment.

Did your parents buy the new mouthpiece and ligature for you? If they did, then they probably want the best sound for you, too. Personally, I have found that the brand of reed doesn't make as much a difference as the hardness.

Size 4 is the same, regardless of the brand.
