Anyone know how to fade a black jacket quickly?

I just purchased a My Chemical Romance BlackList jacket and it is too new! It is black and says it is 100% cotton but it looks like some kind of denim. Anyway, I want it to have a washed out faded look to it. Anyone know any tips to help me get it that way? I cant really put it in the washer either...it has sewn on large buttons all over it.

Use sandpaper.
I haven't tried this, but just incase, try this on a place that you won't see, like the inside, and rub it on the fabric very gently!
If it works, cool! If not, sorry.....
