global warming and ice caps melting, it would be a good idea to drain the water into thre Grand Canyon ?

Instead of the little island in Pacific disappearing surely with all the technology somehow the sea water could be drained and purified and piped to all places that are short of water

That's a brilliant idea - a couple of relatively small dams - no bigger surely than the Hoover dam - would close off the canyon completely. This could then be followed up by placing some wind turbines at either end and passing an electric current through the water. The effect of this would be to electrolyse the water into its constituents hydrogen and oxygen, This has multiple benefits - not only does the canyon empty to take more water, but the gases released into the atmosphere ensure that C02 becomes less significant. If the hydrogen could be captured it could be used to float airships - much more fuel efficient than aeroplanes.
