Freightliner detroit diesel overheating problem?

on a small hill, the engine starts overheating.These Warning lights turn on: Engine overheating + shut engine down. I shut engine down and 5 seconds later i start up the engine again. The lights turn off and the temperature gauge goes back fast from 240 degrees to 130. Then every thing is normal. The overheating has happened a few times in the past 2-3 days. I think it is electrical or sensor problem. Is this correct? I have anti freeze to max line on the tank. What is the problem?

If your fan is working then I would say that it is your thermostats. You should be able to here your fan come on. Try and blow out your air to air and radiator with a blow gun, from the engine side out. I just remebered one that I had that we put thermostats in and blew out the radiator, put a head on because the injector cups were leaking, and still overheated, and found the air compressor was aerating and getting air pockets in it, like the other guy said.
