Arabs tried to conquer Constantinople for ages, but succeeded only in XV century. After it the city received its present name - Istanbul.
A sticking point between Christians and Muslims, Istanbul combines the best of two worlds, but now however looks more like typical orient city with mosques and bazaars. Istanbul is crossed by Bosporus strait, which separates city into European and Asian parts.
The European part of Istanbul is divided into Old and New city. New part is deprived of the historical sights and mostly attracts tourists with its clubs, restaurants and nightlife.
Istanbul is a very big city inhabited by 13 millions! Unlike the most of metropolises with its skyscrapers, in Istanbul typical urban landscape dominate small three of four storey buildings mainly situated along Bosporus strait.
When you come to Istanbul it would be unwise to miss the chance to get acquainted with its rich historical and cultural heritage. The most of the ancient monuments are concentrated in the Old city - Sophia Cathedral, Blue Mosque, Theodosius wall, Topkapi palace and others. Asian part of the city also can boast some remarkable places - Anadolu fortress, Beylerbeyi palace, Kucuksu Kasri, Hidiv Kasri, Leanders tower and Cinili mosque should be on the top of your list.

What's the difference between the West coast and East coast hip-hop?

Apart from the geographical location of the artists. Is there a difference of themes or music or why did it trigger the East-side/West-side feud during which both Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. were killed?

west coast generally has a more laid back beat and harmony with the music, called "g-funk", and the rapping is generally gangsta rap (for example on Dr Dre's album the Chronic and Snoop's album Doggystyle)

east coast has rawer beats and simpler beats with hard ryhming and flow (for example Nas's Illmatic, Mobb Deep's The Infamous and Wu-Tang Clan's Enter The Wu tang 36 chambers)

however nowadays all regions use various forms of hip hop so its not as easily defined the difference these days

And in regards to the feud, that started because 2pac got pissed off because he was shot outside Bad Boy Studios (Biggies main one) when he was plannign to record a song with him. No one on the east coast warned him about the shooting or when he wanted answers after, none of them claimed to know anything about it. Therefore 2pac started a feud against the whole east coast, particularly biggie, and he claimed he was set up.
Fair enough in my opinion, as no doubt someone would have heard word on the streets about the shooting
