what is the best laptop to buy without spending a fortune? (less than $700)

I'm looking for a laptop that wont blow a hole in my wallet. my parents are making me buy my own laptop, and i have about $850 saved up. i was thinking the dell inspiron 1525 because i 'built it' online and it costs about $710, shipping included, for everything i wanted, but i want to know if there is another great laptop out there.
i'm looking for something that has a cd/dvd player, microsoft office, good sound system, wifi, and good memory.
so if you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

HP Pavilion, Dell Studio or Inspiron, Acer Extenza, or IBM Ideapad Y510

The HP Pavilion is what I would recommend, all around great, very attractive look. Get a model with an Intel processor, at at least 2GB of memory. A good sale price for an Intel pentium dual-core with 2GB of memory should be about $500-$600. With a higher end Intel Core 2 Duo, and 3 or 4GB of memory should be around $750-$800.

The Studio is a nice newer attractive dell notebook, Inspirons arn't exactly my favorite but are usually a good price for what you're getting.

The IBM Ideapad Y510 is a really nice laptop, with amazing speakers.

Pick the right screen size, if you're going to carry it around at least once a week, choose 15.4", if more than three times a week, choose a 14.1".
