Is a side bag better for travelling in the day or backpack/daypack?

I am travelling to europe for 8 weeks and apart from my luggage is a daypack better to carry around or a decent sized side bag?

If your daypack/backpack has *very* secure zippers and pockets, it's more comfortable.

If you use a sidebag, you'll want one with a slice-proof strap. In some parts of Europe, thieves ride up on a scooter, slice the strap and steal the bag.

Whenever I go anywhere, I tend to pack everything, including the kitchen sink. If I can t fit that in, I ll take the bathroom basin instead.
