What area/neighborhood to stay in at Puerto Vallarta?

I'm thinking about renting a villa/condo in PV, mid July. Looking for an oceanfront villa but I'm not certain of what area is best...

Best area in Vallarta is the old town, this is Colonia Emiliano Zapata, AKA the romantic zone of the City.
This is the area when you pass the malecón and cross the bridge, to the right.

You will have EVERYTHING close by.
Grosery, galleries, beauty saloon, clothing stores, best restaurants and bars, the beach, etc.
