What could be used to make a padlock secured container?

Recently assorted small electronics and valuables have seemingly disappeared from my room and I've suspected that when i have had people over to my house, these items have been stolen. So, I'm looking for some sort of container for these valuables, that could be secured with a small combination padlock. It doesn't need to be invincible or anything like that, it just needs to make it so the contents can't be accessed without leaving obvious clues that it was raided. So anything at least fairly durable will work as long as it's semi-easy to find and affordable. Any suggestions would be great but i would much prefer something more solid like an actual lock box. If you could include where the container and a small combination padlock could be found with an approximate price that would also be very helpful! Thanks!

Not knowing where you're located, it's hard to supply prices. I would suggest an army surplus store. You should be able to find a foot-locker, or some sort of lock box at a pretty reasonable price. As for the lock, you can get one at any Wal-Mart or hardware store.
