Help! Need info. on shrinking a sweater.top?

I bought a gorgeous Free People Sweater online in a size small, thinking it would fit me. When I received it, it was really big and fit like a Large. The material content is 75% wool, 20% polyester and 5% cashmere and the tag says dry clean only. Does anyone know if there is any way for me to shrink it? I have a feeling it is supposed to be smaller but has stretched out over time. If I dry clean it, will it go back to its original size? Any help on how to shrink or make this material go back to its regular size would be greatly appreciated. If it doesn't work I may try to get it taken in but I'd rather not since it doesn't always work.

Fill the sink with very warm water and soak, do not agitate.

When cool, squeeze out as much of the water as you can.
