What can I do to help America's youth?

I am thirteen. I have read stories about other young people doing amazing things to help children in America. Like, one girl started a drive to get old duffle bags to distribute to foster kids all over America so that they could carry their belongings whenever they move, since many of them move around so much. She also put a stuffed animal in each bag so the kids could always have a friend. Well I want to do something like that. I know I could fall under the category or America's youth, but I want to do something to help the less fortunate part of America's youth. Even the disabled youth...that would be phenomonal. But what can I do? What is nessecary? What are the needs of America's youth? Any imput/ideas are greatly appreciated.
